The competition is a not-for-profit initiative designed to build new rooms in the house of contemporary poetry – for creativity, community, and close reading. It is open to poets from around the world and embraces the diversity of poetic cultures and world Englishes.

An international jury of prominent poets will select a shortlist of approximately sixty poems. These will be published in The Montreal Poetry Prize Anthology 2022 and on the Montreal Prize website.
